Next Branch Organizing Meeting, 9/10/09

Thursday, September 10, 7pm
Haymarket People's Fund
42 Seaverns Avenue
Jamaica Plain, MA

Help us build the upcoming 'From Stonewall to Marriage Equality: The Fight for LGBT Liberation' meeting featuring veteran socialist and LGBT activist Sherry Wolf, author of the recently published book 'Sexuality and Socialism' by Haymarket Books.
While Barack Obama continues to break the promises he made to so many-ending torture, fighting for universal health care and Lesbian,Gay,Bisexual, and Transgender equality, and ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan- many have become confused as to what to do to get what we want. But a new movement for LGBT Equality has been born that is showing working class and oppressed people what it will take to win justice- mass collective struggle from below.

On October 11th, 2009 hundreds of thousands of people from across the country will be converging on Washington, DC for the National Equality March for one simple demand-full equality across the country now! With this emerging movement many activists are beginning to ask, 'Where does LGBT oppression come from?', 'Who benefits from it?, and 'What will it take to win sexual liberation?'. That is why veteran socialist and LGBT activist Sherry Wolf, author of the recently published book by Haymarket Books, Sexuality and Socialism, is coming to speak in Jamaica Plain on Friday September 18th, 2009 on the topic 'From Marriage Equality to Stonewall: The Fight for LGBT Liberation'.

But this meeting won't publicize and build itself. That is why you should come join the Boston Branch of the International Socialist Organization to help us stratigize how we can build this meeting and the upcoming National Equality March. Join us in the fight for a free and equal world- with sexual liberation for all! All are welcome!
