A protest of President Barack Obama’s visit to Boston, organized by Join the Impact - MA (JTIMA), drew more than 100 demonstrators to Copley Square Oct. 23 between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.
"He’s not living up to his promises," Ian Struthers, a student at Fisher College, said of the president’s as yet unfulfilled campaign promises, including a full repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and a stop-loss order ending the military’s ban on gays and lesbians serving openly.
As Struthers listed his complaints against Obama, another demonstrator interjected, saying, "It’s called the fourteenth amendment -- equal protections for all Americans."
The president was attending a fundraising event at the Westin Copley hotel.
