Thurs, 1/6, Dinner Discussion, "Assessing 2010: The Year of Global Austerity"

7pm, Doyle's Restaurant, 3484 Washington St, JP (map)

2010 will go down in history as a year of global austerity, where the ruling classes of every country forced through deep cuts in the living standards of workers and continue to seize on the opportunity of a relentless mutating economic crisis to roll back forever the historical gains of the working class, like social security and Medicare. The cuts have gone hand in hand with vicious attacks and demonization of immigrants, Muslims and other oppressed groups, with a rise in deportations, raids and hate crimes.

Join the Boston branch of the International Socialist Organization for dinner and informal political discussion at Doyle's Restaurant Thursday evening, to re-ground ourselves after the holidays and assess the year that was and the opportunities for a year of struggle in 2011!
