FIRST MEETING, WEDNESDAY, FEB 8TH
1353 Dorchester Ave
Near Fields Corner T Stop
“You know my friends, there comes a time when people get tired of being trampled by the iron feet of oppression”
- Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, 1955
In the same spirit as Occupy Boston and the nation-wide occupy movement, Occupy Dorchester hopes to organize the 99% in Dorchester to fight against pressing issues in the community, like foreclosures and evictions, racism in the criminal justice system, school closures, unemployment, and the potential MBTA fare hikes. Occupy Dorchester seeks to highlight issues people of color face to make those issues central to the occupy movement. Organizers encourage all residents to come to the first meeting of Occupy Dorchester and raise their concerns.
