1/30 Event: Socialist State of the Union

ISO-Boston Event:
Socialist State of the Union
Tuesday, January 30 | 8 - 10 pm

On January 30, Donald Trump will give his first State of the Union Address. The speech comes after a year of a White House-led all-out assault on the working class, immigrants, Muslims, women, people of color, LGBTQ folks, people with disabilities, and the planet. It has also been a year in which the "opposition party"--the Democrats--has failed to stop the attacks, let alone offer an alternative, whether on immigration, health care, foreign policy, or anything else.

With Trump continuing the attacks on people with DACA and TPS, and threatening war on the Korean Peninsula, the speech is sure to be outrageous, terrifying, offensive, and absurd in that Trumpian kind of way. Don't go it alone!

Join the Boston Branch of the ISO to watch, cringe, and get mad together--and talk about what we can DO to build a socialist resistance.

After the speech, we'll watch the Socialist Response to Trump--given by Alan Maass, the editor of Socialist Worker--which will be live streamed on Facebook.

The event will also be a fundraiser for the Center for Economic Research and Social Change, so please bring some cash for refreshments!
